Our Story

An engineer and a consultant left their careers to build an ecommerce brand. Now we run a small agency built around what we learned.

This is the story of JCDC Ventures, and why we chose to keep the agency deliberately small.

2019: The Beginning

Two professionals on paper-perfect career tracks.

Clarence was an engineer. David was in financial consulting. On the outside, everything looked right. On the inside, we both knew we were building someone else's future, not our own.

In 2019, we left to start an ecommerce brand. We made the mistakes most operators make. Products that didn't validate. Tools we didn't need. Decisions made without good data. We learned the hard, expensive way which moves actually mattered.

By year three, we had a profitable brand. By year four, we'd taken it past seven figures. Along the way, other operators started asking us for help. We took on a few. Then a few more. Eventually we realized we'd accidentally built the agency we wished we'd had access to when we were starting.

By Design

Why we stayed deliberately small.

We made a deliberate decision to cap the number of clients we take on. The work we do — real account management, real strategic input, real operational execution — doesn't scale through templates. It scales through experienced people doing the work themselves.

That means we sometimes turn away potential clients we'd genuinely like to work with. It also means the clients we do take on get the depth of attention this kind of work actually requires.
